Paintings of Water is distinctly night-oriented. It is at times quiet, anxious, and reserved, and at others it explodes with life in that drunk-at-3AM-with-best-friends way.

This album took the better part of a year to complete, due to some major life changes. It varies quite a bit from song to song in style and content, with the through-line of the guitar and voice combo. I had no particular concept in mind while working on it, although if I said it was an 'exploration of water as a symbol' most people would probably believe me.

This album was recorded on a Fostex X-26 cassette multitracker and TASCAM DP-008EX using some cheap microphones. The tracks were mixed and mastered in Adobe Audition.
